Dennis went sailing in Chichester last thursday
We went to sailing last thursday. We drove for two hours.(actually it isn't very far from John's home to there, but he drove to wrong way) We arrived there about 6pm. Then we met John's friend on the boat, his name's Jim. Jim cooked some chicken curry for dinner. We drank a bottle white wine before we started dinner. After dinner we walked around the harbour and Jim told us about the place. We went to bed about 10pm. The berth for two was very small and gave me insomnia. It was sunshine on friday morning. We decided to sail out. Before we sailed out, John cooked bacon and ham to us for breakfast. Jim is a experience sailor, he did very well for sailing. He taught me how to sail. But, i just understood only a little bit. We parked the boat near by the land then we had a simple lunch. Ather lunch i felt a bit seasick, then just stripped off and jumped in the water. Water was very cold, made me freezing. John took some pictures for me when i swam in the water. We spent about three hours on the boat then we went back to pontoon have a rest and dinner. We went back home on saturday afternoon. Drove home through the rain. John drove slowly and safely. This was my first experience at sailing!

A Day In Dorset
There was sunshine in the morning but clouds in the afternoon! John said that he wants to go to shopping to the carpet shop today because he was planning to change his flat's carpets (lounge, toilet and landing). We went to the carpet shop near his home. Then he told the shop keeper what he wants. In the shop there were many carpets to choose from. He has chosen some carpets, but some were not my taste. I prefer darker colours with some logo, but those were more expensive! After he quoted the prices we left the carpet shop to go to supermarket. The supermarket's name is Iceland... We went to the supermarket and bought a lots of food. Like pizza, fruits, potatoes, drinks etc... We spent about an hour shopping, then we went back home. That was a day in Dorset for me.

PLAYING TENNIS
This from Dennis in Dorset UK about playing tennis here: Today is a sunny day! I played tennis with John. We both wore very sexy short pants. John took 2 tennis rackets and tennis balls together! We wenta to the club in John's little 206. The club name called VIC... When we arrived at the club, not many people were playing tennis. Only two!! After putting down the bag, we started to play tennis! In the beginning i felt a bit tired because the practice was not really interesting. I needed to run around the court! Then John taught me to pratice forehand, backhand and serve. We praticed with new balls... We spent an hour to pratice. About 1:00pm we went back home... This time was my first experince at tennis, although I was a bit tired, but it was quite fun!!!

TO ANOTHER WORLD
Our 2 month trip to Singapore & around Malaysia was like being in another world with the culture and climate. WHAT I ESPECIALLY ENJOYED - Sunshine - Smiles from all with eye contact - Kindness and generosity of friends made - Swimming in the sea before breakfast - Fantasy tropical fish that gathered in your shadow as you swam - Cheap transport and meals - Variety of Chinese and Indian food - So many beautiful people to see and some to enjoy - Rural views and the colour of landscaped Singapore - Colourful Islam dresses - Friendly uninhibited children - Walking and talking (thanks to Anthony's Malay) in non-tourist places - Driving around tropical island Langkawi - Boat cruise around islands including monkeys and sea eagles close up - Arriving at Kemaman without accommodation and finding hotel across road for RM 38 (£3 each) per night - Rides in our chauffeur driven 1980 Mercedes taxi - Cool Tiger beer - Being treated for Sea Urchin spikes by Rose & Kimmy 7 - Rose's cooking and kind hospitality at Kepas Island - Dennis who liked to take me out for meals - Uji who gave me 2 brollies when I lost mine - Mat who drove us around Penang in his car and paid for meals - Jason who tied us up delightfully - Seeing (so many of) the stars incredibly clearly on the islands WHAT I ESPECIALLY DISLIKED - The constant heat and humidity especially on east coast - Extreme cold air con in public places and taxis - Street smells of open sewage ducts in the towns - Noise everywhere - Being robbed at night in Penang at Good Hope Inn - The strangled unmelodious calls to prayer from loud speakers - The hassle of frequent travel and packing - Not being able to buy tea and coffee without condensed milk - Toilets without paper or soap - that you had to pay for - Great malls selling only food, trinkets and clothes - Food that you don't have to use your teeth to eat See selection of pics: http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/dorset2807/my_photos click on 'malaysia' or http://uk.photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos NAME: dorset2807 PASSWORD: shoosh69

TAKE A BREAK
I'm flying away to Singapore today. Meeting my pal Anthony there to explore the sights, experience some of the saunas, befriend some of the guys and generally have chill-out fun in the city and then throughout Malaysia . . . But this has inspired me: I wanna hang a map of the world in my house. Then I'm gonna put pins into all the locations that I've traveled to. But first, I'm gonna have to travel to the top two corners of the map so it won't fall down. Mitch Hedberg (1968 - 2005) Also had email from straight friend with little story quite amused me . . . An Amish woman and her daughter were riding in an old buggy one cold blustery day. The daughter said to her mother, "My hands are freezing cold." The mother replied, "Put them between your legs. Your body heat will warm them up." So the daughter did and her hand warmed up. The next day the daughter was riding with her boyfriend and he said, "My hands are freezing cold." The girl replied, "Put them between my legs. The warmth of my body will warm them up." So he did and warmed his hands. The following day the boyfriend was again in the buggy with the daughter. He said, "My nose is cold." The girl replied "Put it between my legs. The warmth of my body will warm it up." So he did and warmed his nose. The next day the boyfriend was again driving with the daughter and he said, "My penis is frozen solid." The following day the daughter was driving in the buggy with her mother, and she says to her mother, "Have you ever heard of a penis?" Slightly concerned the mother said, "Why, yes! Why do you ask?" The daughter replies... "They make one heck of a mess when they defrost, don’t they?"

SHINE LIKE STARS
In my daily quiet time with God I've been reading St Paul's letter to the Philippians (Ch 2). His call for us to "Shine like stars" might be a good challenge for 2007. I wonder if Muslims, Christians and Jews might unite in Paul's declaration that "God is at work in you, enabling us to will and to work for his good pleasure". What makes us appear dim - and what, I ponder, will help us to 'shine like stars' in this new year?

HAPPPY NEW YEAR
WISHING YOU A VERY HAPPY 2007 Our Christmas (Anthony - Malay friend from London), Barry (smoothie met at party on Isle of Wight) and Ali (Spanish met on nudist beach), sometimes joined by Peter (wacky local gay guy) and Jamie (local contact). On Christmas Eve we went to midnight mass at a gay friendly church MCC On Christmas Day we went for a walk down to the seaside. Then I cooked a duck and we all had a xxxx. One day we enjoyed a trip through the New Forest to the historic city of Winchester - and listened to carols from choirs and bands in the streets and visited the great cathedral. Another day we explored Lulworth Castle deep in the local countryside: pics of both http://uk.photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos (name dorset2807 password shoosh69) Choose Lulworth Castle or Winchester and click Slideshow above top right picture. I'm spending New Year's day celebrations in London and then so looking forward to visiting Singapore and Malaysia (from January 19) and meeting up with old friends and hopefully making new friends as we go. We return to UK March 25. Do keep in touch with my email john-888@ntlworld.com and I will use mobile when I get the sim card changed. Warm good wishes for 2007 John in UK xx
